Camille Wick (she/her) - Grades 1 + 2
Hello Everyone! My name is Camille and I am a senior in Art Education here at Miami University. I love art because I feel like it is one of the best ways we can express ourselves! My favorite areas of art would be painting and printmaking. I cant wait to meet everyone and share the love of art this fall!! I look forward to seeing you there.
Reilly Powers (she/her) - Grades 3-5
Frankie McKnight (they/their/he/his) - Grades 6-8
Hello! My name is Frankie McKnight, my pronouns are they/he, and you can call me Mx. McKnight, Mr. Frankie, or just Frankie is fine! I am a Senior Art Education / Art Therapy co-major! I am also a co-president for the Visual Arts Club here on campus! I am beyond excited to learn with and grow alongside my students in Saturday Art this semester!
When it comes to my art making, I like to create with all mediums, letting the medium influence the art I'm making. This is a practice I'd love to bring into the classroom as well. I am hoping this semester will be filled with exploration and a love for the process just as much as the final product! |
Griffin Wayne (he/his) - High School + Adult Class
Hey all! My name is Griffin Wayne, and I am a senior Art Education student. My hope is to teach art in high school, and to encourage people to enjoy making art as they get older. As a kid, I wanted to do the Sunday Funnies and write newspaper comics. Now, cartoons are one of my favorite kinds of art to make! I also love abstract art and photography. Especially with our theme of "I Spy..." I'm excited to get out there and look for inspiration!

Dr. Luke Meeken (he/his), Director
I'm an Assistant Professor of Art Education here at Miami, and I'm overjoyed to be here, and to be working with the Saturday Art program! I'm originally from the Cleveland area, and received my BFA at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, my Master's in Art Ed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and my PhD in Art Ed at Penn State. I taught high school digital and traditional arts for four years in Virginia, and have been developing camp programming with the Smithsonian for elementary, middle, and high schoolers since 2012. I've also taught preschool, and prior to getting my art ed certifications, taught English language in Moscow and Prague to students ranging from preschooler to pensioner. Meaningful learning and making happens at all ages, and I'm privileged to get to work with these MU students as they develop programming for all of our Saturday Art groups! |
